This is our company’s story and also a little about our family.
My name is Barbara Dearaujo and Dreamydoodle NW is our family-run breeding program. We’ve been breeding our beautiful bloodline of Australian Labradoodles and Mini Aussiedoodles for over 15 years now and we’re very passionate about what we do!
We’re located in Woodland, Washington state, about 30 mins north of Portland, Oregon.
I was a professional web developer for many years in Portland but nowadays I work from home with my dogs. My husband Roy is an assistant store manager and we have three beautiful kids Connor, Tianna and Olivia.
It all started in 2007 I was on my lunch hour in downtown Portland when I met this lady with the cutest dog I had ever seen! I’d never heard of “Doodle” anything so when she told me her puppy was a “Labradoodle. I thought she was joking and I laughed. I’d grown up with lots of dogs and one of my favorites was a huge Standard Poodle Bird dog named “Polo” so, I was very familiar with standard Poodles and how much I loved them but this poodle mix idea was something completely new and exciting to me! My family had just moved to our first house with a yard! We could finally own dogs…!!!
I honestly became obsessed I soaked up everything I could find online about these adorable poodle mix puppies! Labradoodles, Aussiedoodles, Goldendoodles! YES! I wanted one of each! I know sounds a little crazy and I think my husband would of agreed with you but he also knew once I set my mind to something… I won’t stop until I make it happen.
I did a ton of research first! I wanted to know all the different poodle mixes available and which one I thought would be the best fit for us. I also wanted to make sure we got our puppies from a reputable local breeder who raised the puppies inside, not a puppy from a pet store (aka a puppy mill puppy).
Our first boy was an F1 Goldendoodle named “Toby! Then 6 months later we got our F1 Aussiedoodle named “Teddy” and these 2 dogs were dream dogs! My husband was completely sold the minute he met them and we were both just happy we took the plunge!
I organized Doodle meetups on and offline, I ran a Doodle website called Welovedoodles.com for Doodle owners and after much thought and LOTS of late-night research I finally decided I wanted to start my own breeding program but I was NOT really experienced in dog breeding, actually far from it.
So, I asked my Goldendoodle breeder from Big Oak Ranch with 20+ years of experience if she could be my mentor and luckily, she agreed because she became a priceless resource for me! I learned so much from her. PRICELESS!
Me and Toby my Big Ole Goldendoodle at the vets office!
We moved into our house in Woodland from Vancouver, with a bigger yard for our dogs and I started my exhaustive search for the perfect dogs to start my own Labradoodle bloodline.. from “scratch” as you might say or basically from the first generations (F1 and F1B) between just the AKC registered Lab and the Poodle. I wanted to develop my own perfect Labradoodle. The kind of Labradoodle that I would want – MY DREAM DOG!
I started by holding back a female puppy from almost all of my first litters and with the help of the guardian program I was able to expand my breeding program and my bloodline for over 4 generations now I breed the Multigen Labradoodle, all from the same family of dogs I started my bloodline with.
Most of my female dogs are closely related to my first and most amazing Poodle female named “Miss Daisy”, whom I was blessed to find from a breeder in Indiana!
Miss Dasiy retired from breeding several years ago but she continued to amaze me every day watching over and actively teaching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren! She passed away from old age a couple of years ago. Rest in peace sweet Daisy!
I decided to start a Mini Aussiedoodle bloodline and searched and searched for the perfect Mini Poodle. To be honest I’ve never been a huge fan of the Mini Poodle temperament, so I looked for a Moyen size Poodle female and I found her… we named her Molly, and Molly comes from themoyenpoodle.com in Texas!
Molly was a wonderful Mom and a total sweetheart who had the coolest little Aussiedooodle babies but she’s retired now.. luckily, I kept one of her F1 Mini Aussiedoodle daughters “Miss Mya” who’s also produced some of the most adorable mini Aussiedoodles I’ve ever seen! Molly has retired from breeding
We also added another apricot smaller Moyen Poodle girl named “Peaches” from the same moyen poodle bloodline! They could be twins…or sisters.. which they actually are!
My number one goal from day one was to only breed the VERY BEST to the VERY BEST and my SECOND was to do it without kennels or cages..and maintain a strong focus on temperament and health over color alone.
I was raised on a small cattle and horse ranch as a kid and teen so I had some experience with animal husbandry but I have learned so much more as a dog breeder, and my burning desire to learn more is still alive and well.
I have learned over the years that no matter how experienced a Dog breeder is, they can never claim to “know it all”. It’s totally impossible. Each dog, each puppy, pregnancy, birth, and litter is a unique and new experience and I still learn something new with every new litter.
Now I try to pass on what I’ve learned to others and I’ve mentored several newer breeders over the years myself, including AwesomeDoodle.com who has turned out to be an amazing breeder, and a great mentor himself.
So, you may notice I have a lot of pages dedicated to dogbreeding on this website as well that’s because I also run a Doodle Breeder Resources group on Facebook.
I won’t talk anyone into breeding, but if they’re already doing it anyway, I’ll help by sharing the useful info my mentor shared with me. I just feel it’s important for dog breeders to share their advice and their expertise with each other, at least for the dog’s and puppy’s sake. The knowledge dog breeders possess is not taught in schools!
These amazing curly Doodles have brought our family closer together and have brought nothing but JOY and LOVE into our LIVES. Our program is called “Dreamydoodles Northwest” and it has been so much fun not to mention extremely rewarding!!
There is nothing more rewarding then seeing the dogs you’ve had a part in raising, change lives for the better. So when people ask me “how do you say goodbye to your puppies”? While, of course it’s not always easy to say goodbye but it’s so rewarding that it makes it all worth it in the end.

We have a very active Facebook with daily updates so make sure to check out DreamydoodlesNW on Facebook because if you don’t you’re missing out on half of what makes us who we are.. an extended family of Dog lovers! Read our Facebook Reviews!
Our life revolves around our dogs and they make us smile and laugh every day. There is nothing better than a dog.
I honestly believe animals and children teach us about unconditional love.. they’re both a blessing and should be treated as such. How a person treats their animals.. tells you a lot about their hearts.
Owning Doodles has been a blessing to our whole family.
Dogs make you smile and laugh, they’re loyal till the end and they just want to be loved by you, they don’t argue or fight with you or call you names, they accept you for who you are, an imperfect human and they still love everything about you.
Here are some pictures of our family over the years. I hope you enjoy them.
Olivia has helped me so much over the years!! She has a great passion for animals just like her Mom and was basically raised in a puppy pool. She is actually 14 years old now.. This pages pictures are VERY outdated but she’s still the same. She takes her job as our head of “Puppy Socializing” department very seriously.. even to this day!
All the kids have been a great help and to this day still help with the dogs and puppies – my son is 21 now and my oldest daughter is 20!! Crazy how time flies!
